Hi,

I can't get FlashMagic to connect to a Keil LPC2100 eval board (LPC2129 on board) via USB Virtual COM port (my laptop has no real COM ports; the LPC2100 only has a 9 pin RS232). I am just trying to read the device id. I have setup according to Keil instructions here:
http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/mcb2100/mcb2100_su_verify_com.htm

Does anybody have any information on how to get this working?

p.s. I have tried on another PC with a real COM port and it all works OK.

Somewhere in this forum (search) there is a thread "USB to serial converters that work"  and many threads "this USB to serial converter does not work"

Most USB to serial converters are 'tested' to work with a modem and shipped as a load of crap that happen to work for the 'popular' use.
