Title: Re: Security Bit
Post by: Saeed on October 20, 2005, 05:51:49 AM

How can I make sure that the security bit can never be programmed/Set? because once this happens, it can't be erased using ISP and a parallel programmer is required to erase it!

Thanks

Usually Flash Magic warns you before programming those kinds of security bits. Are you seeing a situation where it does not do that?

I am sorry, I forgot to mention it: P89LPC932.
Thanks

Andrew
The warning message only appears after the security bit has been set.  This is because I changed the PLC932 to a new chip and all was fine and the warning message is not given any more.

Because students are using these boards, I was wondering if one can stop the security bit to be set again.
Thanks

Which security bit is it? What warning message are you getting and when exactly?

The Warning message is:
"You have selected at least one security bit which once programmed it cannot be erased using ISP, a parallel programmer is required.  Are you sure you wish to program the security bit(s)? "

This appears:  After you click the to download.

Bit 2 of all Block Sec. (in Section 4) become disabled too.

And if you click on No is the security bit programmed? Make sure you are using the latest version of FM as well.
