Title: Facing problems with 89V51RD2 board
Post by: ssp on May 11, 2006, 02:52:14 AM
HI all,
We have 89V51RD2 controller card.We are using "Flash Magic" software for ISP.
During ISP we got the following problems:
When we run the exe, it gives the message "Reset the controller in ISP".
After powering on board the  message disappears ( means it is going in the Boot mode) but after some time it process(busy symbol) and give message as communication (transmit/receive) not possible.Board will not respond to ANY COMMANDS like read Factory setting.
We changed the BAUD rate to almost all the positions but result is the same.

We got 2.5 odd version of FLASH MAGIC.

We checked the serial communication by HyperTerminal. At 9600 baud rate
by sending character "U" it echoes back the character( but it echoes
after sending some 15 to 20 characters).

Please suggest what we should do.

Thanks in advance.

make the RS-232 interface standard.

What you describe is excatly what those that believe in the urban legend "you do not need a MAX232(equivalent)" get.

I may be wrong, but all indicators say so

I'd guess some weird reset circuit, rather.
However, if you are able to get the chip into ISP mode "manually" (getting it to echo the 'U's), you might leave Hyperterminal in that moment andrun FlashMagic to do the rest (or program it in Hyperterminal if you dare to do so).
