Hi All,

Does any one know how to program these devices with Flash magic?

What is the In Circuit Program Adaptor to ISP bridge mention on this site?

P89LPC901 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC902 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC903 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC906 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC907 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC908 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC912 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC913 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)
P89LPC914 (requires ICP to ISP bridge)

Regards
Joseph

The smaller LPC devices do not have enough on-chip memory to support ISP so they use an alternative method called ICP. The ICP to ISP bridge is a piece of hardware that converts from ISP into ICP and vice versa, allowing these devices to be programmed by Flash Magic.

The ICP to ISP bridge will be available from Philips.

Is it the consensus of this group that, until Philips releases the ISP to ICP bridge, there is NO WAY to program these devices?

The ISP to ICP bridge is now available from Philips, directly from their web site. The part numbers are:

PAB90X-1 for LPC901/2/3
PAB90X-2 for LPC906/7/8

You can find these tools by visiting the microcontroller tools homepage:
http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/markets/mms/products/microcontrollers/support/development_tools

- Click on "Tools by tool type"
- Click on "Programming Adapters"
- Click on the "X" next to "PAB90x-1" or "-2" or click on the "LPC90x" family

Andy,
Thanks for the information on the ISP to ICP bridge part numbers.  Unfortunately, they are specific to the Keil development boards.  I use the Philips own brand PDS900.
Are we allowed to know the programming process specification?  I would like to build it into my target board.

Frank

Philips are working on an application note that should give you the information you need. I currently don't know when the application note will be released.

Support for programming ALL the ICP members of the LPC9xx family on the PDS900 emulator has been included in release 4.33 of the PDS51E IDE. This is available for download from www.acqura.com, and the required adaptors can be ordered through the same site.

Note: No ICP to ISP bridge is required in this case - only the relevant physical device adaptor.
