Title: does overclocking work?
Post by: roger floyd on September 18, 2003, 07:06:26 AM
In the old days a 12mhz 8751 would work @14.7456 (good for baud)
Does anyone know if the LPC932 work (reliably) with this xtal
Who knows where the REV E parts(plcc) are in stock?
Thanks

While it may be possible to run the LPC932 above 12MHz, I doubt it will ever be recommended by Philips and I doubt reliability claims would be made by them or anyone else.

again
THE FACT THAT SOMETHING PASSES TEST ("WORKS") DOES NOT PROVE IS IS OK.

You may, indeed find a chip that (seems to) work at a higher clock speed and then later with another chip it does not.  Do you REALLY believe that Philips is going to react positive to "I am returning 12 MHz chips because they do not work at 14MHz, please send replacements"?
