What's the soft ice  Optoin in Flashmagic do?

To the best of my knowledge Philips are devloping software similar to the Cy... argh SILabs 'IDE' that allow ICE functions without an ICE when the SoftICE is invoked.

The data sheet does not say any thing and with flash magic if you eanble softice you can not do any thing through serial programe. Only option will be to use Parallel programming.

SoftICE is a version of the Keil Monitor. That's all I know.
