Hello,

I just downloaded FlashMagic ver2.01 for programming my Philips microcontroller 89LV51RD2. It has a crystal frequency of 11.0592 whereas, I believe the default crystal frequency is 16 MHz.

I do not see a window in my FlashMagic ver 2.01 for chaning/setting the clock frequency to 11.0592.

The only windows I have in Section I of FlashMagic are PC port, baud rate and device. Please tell me my error and please tell me the solution.

I would be obliged if you can help me/or tell me a.s.a.p.

Regardss,
Nalin Pithwa

You don't change the oscillator frequency via ISP - just change the crystal you are using.

Whenever Flash Magic asks for the oscillator frequency in section 1, it is for two purposes:

  - some devices need to know the speed they are running at in order to program correctly

  - some devices support a high speed communications mode, the settings for which need to be calculated for the speed the device is running at.

Neither of these apply to the 89LV51RD2, therefore there is no box to enter the oscillator frequency.
