Problem Connecting After Program LPC932A1
« on: February 16, 2008, 01:06:55 pm »
I connected fine to a new part on my board through the RS232 pins. I programmed the part and afterwards I went into the ISP-->Device Configuration menu. The "Enable Reset Pin" and "Enable Brownout Detection" boxes were checked and I then selected the reprogram button.

After a power cycle I can no longr connect to my part. What did I do wrong and how can I get communication restored?

Once you enabled the reset pin you now need to ensure it is being reset properly. Put a scope on the reset pin and make sure the waveform meets the AC and DC requirements specified in the datasheet.

Also once you have programmed a device and reset it, you need to meet the conditions described in the user manual to place the device back into ISP mode. Typically this is three pulses on the reset pin after power up. See the user manual for full details.
