Hello Everybody !

I really need quick help regarding programming of P89V51RD2BN.

Let me explain the issue.
I have had a ready hardware for a project with P89V51RD2FN MCU of NXP.
Obviously COM is connected via MAX232.
I am successfully able to flash P89V51RD2FN with that hardware. It is running my program properly.
So this means, hardware is perfect.

Now, I have got two of the P89V51RD2BN chips.
I need to flash the same program in them.
So I removed the P89V51RD2FN from the hardware and put in the BN chip.

And then Flash Magic just keeps saying Rest the hardware into ISP mode.
I tried lots of things from forum, but no luck so far.
As I am able to flash FN chip with no issues at all, I am sure that hardware and Flash Magic is configured properly.

I also tried with another BN chip I have, no luck.
Is there any issue with the BN chips ?
Are they faulty something ?

I am attaching a photo of BN chips I have, may be helpful.
Flash Magic Version is 5.74

Please help me asap. I need to submit this project by Monday :(.
Thanks a lot.

I would suspect static damage. Are the devices brand new from NXP? We've had cases of people selling used and/or damaged devices as new in India before. Try asking for some samples from your local NXP office.

Thanks for the reply Andy.
Yes I read about fake/malfunctioned NXP chips in local components shops in India.
The BN chip I am trying to flash is from a local store only. So I am not sure if its brand new NXP.

I have sent a Fax to local sales office for sample order of FN chips.
Hope they'll accept the order and ship asap.
Can't wait to flash :D
Need to submit project very soon.

Also I think NXP should take serious actions towards fake/malfunctioned sale of NXP chips.

Sir, how P89V51RD2 FN or BN or FA chips differ ?

The FN and BN have different temperature ranges of operation.
FN: -40 C to +85 C
BN: 0 C to 70 C

The FA is a PLCC55 package (FN and BN are DIP40)
